The Library held two workshops in October to discuss the ‘future of the research infrastructure’ in the library, with a focus on Pure and the current institutional repository.

Slides

The slides from Armand Guicheret are available here as a pdf   (Feedback from the workshop are available below)

Key takeaways from the workshops

  1. Can the library build an upload wizard so that researchers don’t have to use Pure? – We have started thinking about this
  2. Can we expand the scope of the new repository project to include other collections ? – Yes, we will do some initial meetings to see how this can be done
  3. Can we make our metadata more interconnected, more contextual? Yes, but this needs some exploration
  4. Naming and definitions – is the institutional repository the right name? What do we mean by publishing online vs publishing peer review? More things to keep discussing
